Course Description and Topics:
This dynamic and comprehensive two-day course presented by Ellen Barker, MSN, RN, CNRN, a national and international neuroscience and rehabilitation expert, can be arranged at your location and custom designed for your professional staff. The course is an excellent way to orient new staff, prepare for certification or to increase competence and confidence in the delivery of patient care. Using Power Point lectures and slides, videos, demonstrations, and class participation, Ms. Barker updates participants on the current knowledge and practice guidelines in the complex and often complicated management of the neuroscience patient. In addition, Ms. Barker's textbook: Neuroscience Nursing: A Spectrum of Care, ed. 3, soon to be published by Mosby/Elsevier, can be ordered for all participants registered for the course to read and study prior to the program. The fourth edition of Barker's Neuroscience Nursing Study Guide is now available and widely used by nurses around the country to prepare for the certification examination.
